GMR Gator Robotics wins Minnesota 10,000 Lakes Regional

The Greenbush-Middle River Robotics, Team #5172, will be heading back to the FIRST Robotics World Championships yet again after finishing first at the Minnesota 10,000 Lakes Regional at Williams Arena on the University of Minnesota campus in Minneapolis, April 6-8. The GMR team will compete at the World Championships in St. Louis, April 25-29.

“I want to congratulate the robotics (team),” GMR Superintendent Tom Jerome said at the April 17 board meeting, adding that he’s very proud of them, including both the dedicated students and mentors.

The team is working to fundraise to offset expenses related to the World Championships, according to the April GMR School Board Meeting Agenda. GMR Robotics also qualified for the Minnesota State High School League State Robotics Competition, May 19-20, an opportunity for the team to defend its state championship.
