Midgie McGuire was born “Minnie” to Emanuel and Augusta (Wendt) Kopki on August 2, 1923 in Havana, North Dakota.  She married Arnold McGuire in Williams, MN in 1943.  To this union, 10 children were born.

Midgie loved her family, gardening, canning, ice fishing, smoking fish, picking blueberries and she was the best pie maker in the country.  She never turned anyone away from her table or door.  Everyone who knew her knew she had the best garden, and you never went away hungry.  The “fridge” had, and still has, a special place in all our hearts.  We always knew there was something to eat at Ma’s.

Midgie was mom to 10, but her heart and her home were wide open to her son and daughter-in-laws, nieces, nephews, in-laws and out-laws.   May you rest in peace, - Your Jackpine Savages.  We love you Mom, Grandma and G.G.

Midgie is survived by children, Dale (Denise) McGuire of Williams, Dareld (Cindy) McGuire of Mahtomedi, MN, Linda (Ron) LaMere of Buffalo, MN, Renee McGuire of Warroad, Karen (Walt) Hassel of Roosevelt, Darlene (Dave) Danielson of Roseau, Mary (Cecil) Robbins of Williams; son-in-law, Dick Ostaba of St. Paul, MN; 21 grandkids; 32 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arnold; and children, Annette Ostaba, Michael Ross and Lawrence Arnold; and siblings.

Memorial services were held on Saturday, November 2nd at 3 PM at the Warroad Senior Living Center Chapel in Warroad.   Interment will be at the Pine Hill Cemetery.
