Violet Lenore Sikorski was born on May 20, 1923 to August and Mary Florence (Bushie) Pearson in Juneberry Township, Roseau County.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Oiland Lutheran Church of Rural Greenbush and attended county school in Juneberry.
Following school she stayed home for a few years to help on her family’s farm before going to work at Keeney farms as a cook and housekeeper. She later moved to Grand Forks where she was employed at St. Michaels Hospital for a brief period. She was confirmed into the Catholic faith and was united in marriage to Henry Sikorski at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush on February 7, 1945 and the two made their home, farmed, and raised their family in Juneberry.  She and Henry also owned and operated “The Little Hotel” in Greenbush for a number of years.  Henry passed away in 1996 and
Violet remained on the farm for a brief period before moving into Greenbush where she resided until entering The Meadows assisted living in Karlstad in 2012 and then moving into the Karlstad Heathcare Center in 2013 where she passed away at the age of 90 years, 9 months, and 14 days.
Violet was a past member of Oiland Lutheran Church, St. Aloysius Catholic Church, Fire Warden for Juneberry Township, and a current member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush.
She enjoyed gardening, picking berries, canning, and working with all of her animals on her farm.
Violet is survived by three daughters: Phyllis Aarestad of Thief River Falls, MN, Marilyn Kharouf of Prole, IA, and Sally (Pete) Beito of Lancaster, MN; 17 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, and two great great grandsons; one sister Donna (Harold) Haynes of Anchorage, AK; sister in law Darlene Pearson of Merrimac, WI, son in law Jimmy Linder, along with many nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one son Jerry, one daughter Joan Linder, three brothers Clifford, Floyd, and Lloyd Pearson, one sister (in infancy), and son in laws Kenny Aarestad and Bob Kharouf.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM, Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Greenbush with Fr. Luis Buitron presiding. Eucharistic Ministers for the Mass are Collette Mooney and Rachel Lund; the Mass Servers are Ely and Ethan Novacek; Emily Straw as the Reader for both the Mass and the Prayer Service; Gift Bearers are Violet’s daughters: Sally Beito, Phyllis Aarestad, and Marilyn Khrouf and Violet’s Casket Bearers are Brian Jacobson, Jason Aarestad, Joe Linder, Jesse Linder, Nick Straw, and Josh Sorenson.  The Organist for both the Mass and the Prayer service is Michelle Peppel providing music and Michelle Kern as the Song Leader.
Visitation was held after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday, at the Collins Funeral Chapel in Greenbush with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. and Rosary  followed.  Visitation was also held prior to services at the church.
Interment services will be held at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Cemetery of Greenbush later in the spring.
