Steven passed away at the age of 61 on March 22. He was born on December 5, 1952 in Hill City, Minnesota to Shirely (Lou) and Richard Hunt.  He married Deborah Stensrud in April of 1977 and eventually moved to East Grand Forks MN to settle and raise a family.  She preceded him in death in 2005.

He worked hard at various professions throughout his life but spent the most time operating heavy equipment.  He was a lover of animals and his house typically held at least one rescue.  He was very fond of Legos and was known to design and build entire castles.  He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, watching TV, and cracking jokes.  He was a wonderful cook and took great pleasure in making food for potlucks, BBQ’s and family dinners.  He was a skilled baker who would make dozens of different cookies at Christmas.

He is survived by his children: Stephanie Knepper (husband Greg), Jennifer Vickery (husband Kevin); two brothers, Terry Hunt (wife Jane), Timothy Hunt (wife Lisa); one grand-child (SJ), and many nieces and nephews.  He was a wonderful, loving person who will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 on Saturday April 12th, 2014 at Raging River Community Church, 31104 SE 86th Street, Preston, Washington.  In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Woodland Park Zoo at www.zoo.org.
