Edel worked at Tri-Valley Growers, starting at Plant 1 and retiring from Plant 7.  She also worked for many years as a gift-wrapper during the holiday season at Village Drug Store in McHenry Village.
She loved to travel near and far.  Edel and Jim took many cruises and traveled to countries in Europe.   Her favorite trip was a Scandinavian cruise.  They also enjoyed driving around California.
Edel was preceded in death by her husband, Jim, by her brothers Jimmie Norquist, Ray Norquist and Jeff Norquist and her sisters Millie Hart and Hazel Grill.
She is survived by her daughters Denise Abbey (Bob), Dallas Marsh (Garrad), Jennifer Kadry and Alida Pohl (Pat).  She is survived by her sisters Harriet Anderson and Joyce Riddick and her brothers Johnny Norquist (Carol) and Gale Norquist (Carol).  Also, surviving Edel are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.  She had many nieces and nephews and their families who will miss her.  She also leaves behind her dear friends Isabelle Williams and Mary Arroyo.
