Stauffenecker,Donald ‘Don’ Peter, age 73, died July 14, 2014, following a hard-fought battle with bone cancer.  He passed peacefully at home in Shakopee, MN, surrounded by family.  Don is survived by his wife, Colleen; children: Tim of Winstead, MN; Steve (Rene Hunger) of Ramsey, MN; Barb (Frank) Calabro of Shakopee, MN; grandchildren:  Amber Lynn, Victor, Cece, Shannon, Nick and Jeff; sisters:  Joan (Tom) Gould of Thief River Falls, MN; Diane (Tony) Williams of Naples, FL; brothers:  John (Sandy) Stauffenecker of Greenbush, MN; Pete (Natalie) Stauffenecker of Greenbush, MN; and Paul Stauffer of Richardson, TX.
Don was preceded in death by son, Dan; parents, Peter and Julianna Stauffenecker and brother, Robert.
Don was born in Roseau, MN, July 25, 1940. He grew up on a farm in Greenbush and graduated from Greenbush High School in 1958.  He then moved to the Twin Cities to attend Dunwoody Institute where he discovered his aptitude for tool and die making.  He worked in that capacity for many years, and in 1997 he and Ralph Edwards became partners in their own business, Classic Machine, in Osseo, MN. Don loved his family, friends and being around people. He enjoyed fishing (particularly ice fishing), deer-hunting, snowmobiling, the outdoors and especially being at his cabin.
An 11:00 a.m. memorial service to celebrate Don’s life was held Friday, July 18, 2014, at Friendship Church in Shakopee, MN, with Pastor Mike Golay officiating.
