Donna Schindler
Donna J. Schindler, 81 of East Grand Forks, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2008 at the Valley Eldercare Center of Grand Forks, ND.Donna J. Mykleby was born on April 14, 1927 the daughter of Edwin and Amanda (Peterson) Mykleby. Donna was raised by her grandparents, Ingabret and Bertha Mykleby. She attended school in East Grand Forks.
On October 22, 1955, Donna was united in marriage to John A. Schindler at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Warren, MN.
Donna was a charter member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks, and was involved in many church activities. She enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and her pets.
Following the death of her husband John in 1971, she raised her children by herself.
Family members who survive Donna include her sons, Gary (Jeanne) Schindler of Albert Lea, MN, Terry Schindler of East Grand Forks and Tim (Tammy) Schindler of Grafton, ND; daughter: Cindy (LeRoy) Helmoski of Grand Forks; sisters: Deloris “Lolly” Metcalf of East Grand Forks, Shirley (Lowell) Hamrick of Warren, MN, Betty Lewis of Northbend, NE, Carol Ann (Edward) Jacobson of Grand Forks; grandchildren: Kelli, Daniel, Kayela, Joshua, MaryRose and Terri Jean and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband in 1971 and a sister Darlene Bedard of Warren.
Funeral Services were held on Monday, July 21, 2008 in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, East Grand Forks.
