Joseph Folk
Joseph Jacob Folk, 78, of Lawrenceburg, KY formerly of East Grand Forks, MN died Wednesday, July 16, 2008 after a long illness at his residence in Lawrenceburg, KY. He married the late Eleanor Chaisson Folk on June 18, 1955 and son of the late Katherine Mack and Joseph Folk.Mr. Folk was born April 14, 1930 in Lyndon, NJ. He formerly worked with Gamble-Robinson Company in MN and retired in 1992 as a sugar processor for American Crystal Sugar Company in East Grand Forks, MN. He was a member of the St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceburg, KY, and the American Legion Post #157 in East Grand Forks, MN. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 – 1955 during the Korean War.
He is survived by three children, Karen L. (George) Nagy of Lawrenceburg with whom he lived, Joseph William Folk of Ellington, NY, and Kevin Paul (Carol) Folk of East Grand Forks, MN.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Haen and Barbara Templeman, and an adolescent brother.
Funeral mass was held Monday, July 21, 2008 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Lawrenceburg.
An EGF memorial service and burial will be announced at a later date.
Memorials are suggested to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, EGF.
