Carlyle "Corky" Driver

Carlyle “Corky” Driver, 63, of Osage, MN, died Thursday, August 28, 2008 at his home.
Carlyle Emerson Driver Jr. was born on January 27, 1945 in Philadelphia, PA, the son of Carlyle and Delores (Madden) Driver Sr. He grew up and graduated from High School in Piqua, OH.
On May 23, 1966 he was united in marriage to Connie Foster in Minot, ND. In 1963 he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at the Minot Air Force Base until 1967.
He then moved to McKinzie, TN and worked for a furniture factory and then moved to Garden Grove, CA in 1971 where he owned and operated B & C Custom Furniture. In 2004 they moved to Osage, MN.
Corky was the first male Girls Scout Leader in CA and the 2nd male Girls Scout Leader in the nation. Corky volunteered, coached and umpired for Bobby Sox for 28 years. Carlyle’s greatest love besides his family was working with kids and also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Corky is survived by his wife, Connie, of Osage, three daughters: Cheri (Michael) Glorioso of Corona, CA, Trina (Leo) Youroski of Garden Grove, CA and Tina (Keith) Pottenger of Casper, WY; five grandchildren: Shar, Chuckie, Tanita, Silvana and Jewlia and five great-grandchildren; one sister: Carolyn (Joe) Shipes of Charlotte, NC.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one sister Mary and a brother in infancy.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, September 2, 2008 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, East Grand Forks.
Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery, Grand Forks, ND
