Dorothy Bourman Bourman

Dorothy Clara Ringstad was born March 1, 1918, in Gully, Minnesota, to Alfred and Mabel (Dahl) Ringstad. She went to school in Gully. She married John David Bourman on March 17, 1934. They lived and raised their family in northern Minnesota. They were farmers and loggers. Dorothy was devoted to her family. She loved to bake, especially bread. Her husband passed away in 1989. Dorothy continued to live by herself until her health forced her to move to the Bigfork Nursing Home in January of 2004. She passed away there on March 16, 2007, at the age of 89 years and 15 days.
She is survived by daughters, Alice Nash, International Falls, Donna Thompson, Williams, Marleen (John) Frank, International Falls, Iris (George) Frank, Talmoon, Sharon (Steve) Christie, Bowstring, Bonnie (Clark) Sterbonic, California; sons, John (Arlene), Warroad, Arvid (Pat), Conrad, Galen, all of Spring Lake, Glen (Linda) Talmoon, and Ronnie, Grand Rapids; sisters, Florence Berg, Oregon, Manda VanDeVenter, Oregon; brother, Roy (Jean) Ringstad, Washington; 31 grandchildren, 61 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Deloris and Mavis Ringstad.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John; three sons; three daughters; three brothers and one sister; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held on March 20, 2007, at Carroll Funeral Home in Deer River, Minnesota. Burial was at Greenwood Cemetery.
