Kelly Blomquist

Please let me share my memories of our loving daughter as well as my friend.
Kelly Marie Blomquist was born on Monday, April 4, 1977 in Karlstad, MN to Bruce and Judy. She was in a hurry to enter this world with the doctor barely making it there to catch her. She left this life as suddenly as she arrived as the result of a car accident on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at the age of 30 years, eight months and 18 days. Although it is very difficult for those left behind, it was her time to go home to be with God. Someday we too will join her and once again be a whole family all because of a special baby born years ago.
Kelly was baptized and confirmed in Lake Bronson. Kelly was very active as she grew into womanhood. She had a lot of great experiences as a Girl Scout and a very active 4-H’er. In school, she loved being involved in sports as a player or as a manager, was a part of many school plays and active in FLA/FHA. She graduated from Tri-County in Karlstad in 1995.
Kelly went to Northland Community College in Thief River Falls. Upon graduation, she decided she wanted more. She went on to graduate from NDSU with a double major. She loved to have fun, yet worked very hard to get where she was. Kelly went to work at Digi-Key in TRF as an account rep in volume sales.
She often loved to talk about the interesting clients she dealt with. She had some real troubling years and had difficulty finding her way at times. A little over a year ago, she began a very special relationship with her boyfriend, Cameron. Life was finally going her way. She was very happy and had lots of plans filled with happiness and hope. We were all very happy for her.
Kelly loved her family. She was a very devoted daughter, sister and aunt. She also loved her extended family. She was Godmother to Keisha Sele and Aurora Hesby, taking this commitment very seriously.
Kelly always tried to speak positive about everyone. She was very giving, but also was not afraid to voice her opinion and stood strong in what she believed.
Kelly leaves behind to mourn her passing and yet be filled with great memories, her parents: Bruce and Judy; her brothers: Jason and Joshua; her sister: Karissa (Chris) Hesby; nephew: Aidan Hesby; nieces: Aurora and Ashton Hesby; grandmother: Clarice Olson; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She also leaves behind a very special friend: Cameron Chisholm. Kelly will truly be missed.
Kelly was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather: Dale Olson; aunt: Marie Louise Olson; and paternal grandparents: Edwin and Mary Blomquist.
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, December 29 at 11:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church in Lake Bronson. Visitation was Friday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Austin-Hughes Funeral Home in Hallock.
