City needs input for potluck dinner

Dan Nordine
Does a potluck dinner appeal to you?
Do you like participating in pot lucks?
Have a favorite casserole (that’s a hotdish to all you Swedes and Norwegians) or salad you would like to share?
The City of Karlstad has tentatively scheduled a potluck dinner following the 10:30 a.m. Community Church Service during Moose Fest on Sunday, Aug. 10.
But to hold such an event, organizers need some community input.
First, input is needed to determine whether or not there is enough interest in holding a potluck or would people rather have just coffee and cake following the service.
Secondly, anyone who would like to participate in a potluck should call Wayne or Sue at the Karlstad City Clerk’s Office at 436-2178 and let them know, and inform them on the type of food they intend to share.
“We announced the potluck some time ago, but have had absolutely no feedback to let us know if people are even interested in the idea,” City Clerk Wayne Ruud said. “If there is not enough interest in this, maybe we should do something else. We just thought a community potluck was a good idea.”
If the potluck is to become a reality, the phone at the City Clerk’s Office needs to begin ringing. Ruud said he needs enough interested participants in the project by Friday, July 25 to go ahead.
