Edna Lundberg

Edna Lundberg, 90, of Kennedy, MN passed away at the Kittson Memorial Hospital in Hallock, on Wednesday morning, August
13, 2008.
Edna Krogstad was born June 17, 1918 in Tegner Township near Kennedy to Ole B. and Bertha (Ristad) Krogstad. Edna was baptized and confirmed in Zion Lutheran Church. She graduated from Kennedy High School in 1936 and Concordia College in 1940. Edna taught in several Minnesota communities including, Waldorf, Warroad
and Kerkhoven. On October 7, 1945 she was united in marriage to Walter Lundberg at Kennedy. They settled in Kennedy for a short before moving to the Lundberg family farm where they raised their four children. Walter died on February 6, 1985. Edna continued to live on the farm for three more years, spending winters in Hallock.
Edna was a member of Maria Lutheran Church.
Family members include a daughter: Mary (Kerth) Lundell, Santa Fe, NM; two sons, James (Renee) Lundberg, Bismarck, ND and Jerry (Sue) Lundberg, Colorado, Springs, CO; a daughter-in-law: Vickie Lundberg, Lake Bronson, MN; six grandchildren: Dana Lundell, Christopher, Nicholas, Brian, Eric and Matthew Lundberg; a great grandson: Andrew Lundberg; a sister: Evelyn (Harris) Mortenson, Hallock; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Walter; a son: John; a sister, Helen; an infant sister: Mildred; and brothers: Odin, Elmer, Harold, Alfred, Bert and Ronald.
Funeral services were Monday, August 18, at 10:30
a.m. in Maria Lutheran Church at Kennedy, MN, Rev. Phil Tobin, presiding; Joyce Hulst, organist and Charles and Patti Swanson, duet. Casket bearers were Edna’s grandchildren. Honorary casket bearers were nieces and nephews. Interment was in the Kennedy City Cemetery.
Austin-Hughes Funeral Home of Hallock was in charge of arrangements.
