Tammy Mitziga

Tammy Lynn Mitziga, 49, of Kennedy, MN entered the Kingdom of Heaven on Monday, August 11, 2008 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Tammy Thorsteinson was born on July 23, 1959 to William and Arlene Thorsteinson in Langdon, ND. The family moved to Kennedy, in 1970 and Tammy graduated from Kennedy High School in 1977. She graduated from East Grand Forks Technical College in 1978 and began her career at the Developmental Center in Grafton, ND. Tammy was united in marriage to Greg Allen Mitziga on November 7, 1987 and they made their home in Kennedy. Their daughter Jacey was born on December 24, 1993. Tammy made the most of her time here with us. She loved the times with her friends and family at the lake, cooking and entertaining all of her friends, and especially raising her daughter Jacey. Her loving kindness, warm smile and quick-witted humor will be missed.
Tammy is survived by her husband: Greg; daughter Jacey; her mother: Arlene Kain; stepfather: LuVerne Kain; brother: Brent (Barb) Thorsteinson of Hallock, MN; sisters: Cheryl (Ross) Lambert of Drayton, ND, Kari (Tony) Bender of Bemidji, MN; sister-in-law: Danette (Andrew) Roberts of Farmington, MN; mother-in-law: Elsie Ann Mitziga of Karlstad, MN; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father: William Thorsteinson.
Funeral services were Friday, August 15, at 2:00 p.m. in Maria Lutheran Church at Kennedy, Kathy Levenhagen, lay minister, presiding; Karen Vold and Renee Ryden, duet; Patti Swanson, organist. Honorary casket bearers were family and friends. Interment was in Riverside Cemetery at Lake Bronson
Austin-Hughes Funeral Home of Hallock was in charge of arrangements.
