Carolyn Sharbono
Carolyn Marie Sharbono, 63, died August 27, 2008 at rural Devils Lake, ND.Carolyn Marie was born on April 8, 1945 at St. Luke’s Hospital, Fargo, ND, the daughter of John M. and Marian L. (Loberg) Beach. She attended Mayville State Teacher’s College, graduating with a degree in Secondary Education with an English Major. Before teaching in New Rockford, she met Fred Sharbono and they were united in marriage on June 19, 1965 at the First Congregational Church at Hillsboro, ND. She also taught school in Minnewaukan for one year. In 1968, they moved to their farm at Graham’s Island where they have lived, farmed side by side, and raised their family through the years. Carolyn was a member of the Minnewaukan Presbyterian Church where she served as the church organist and was also a Benson County 4-H Leader. Carolyn always had a beautiful garden, was famous for homemade bread and was an avid reader. Her faith and family sustained her through these difficult times and her legacy of faith and love will be forever in our hearts.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents.
Carolyn’s loving family includes her husband, Frederic; daughter: Melanie Wuensch and husband Bradley; sons: Douglas Sharbono and wife Kristin Shane Sharbono; grandchildren: Kaylee, Abigail and Anna Sharbono: sisters: Laurie Lammers and Jackie Hellerud (Karlstad); brothers: Jim Beach and Ted Beach.
A prayer service was at Gilbertson Funeral Home at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 30. Funeral service was at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Devils Lake, ND, at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, with Pastor Kevin Kaufmann officiating. A special reading was by Shane Sharbono, and music was by Jim Wang, soloist, Jessica Gauslow, pianist and Lynda Pearson, organist. Casket bearers were Carolyn’s nephews: Wade Sharbono, Michael Sundseth, Dean Sharbono, Jason Hellerud, Jonathon Hellerud, Joel Hellerud, Cody Beach, Kevin Beach, Joshua Beach and Levi Beach.
Gilbertson Funeral Home of Devils Lake was in charge of arrangements.
