22 lb. Cat wins Drayton tourney

Andrews of Grafton, ND took first place with his 22 lb. 3 oz. whopper catfish, which also netted him a cash prize of $1750.00.
Drayton’s annual Rod & Reel Rally whopper catfishing tournament was held Saturday, July 19 at Hastings Landing Recreation Area in Drayton. A light drizzle at the start of the tournament did nothing to dampen participants’ enthusiasm and the fish didn’t seem to notice either. 129 anglers competed in the event and a total of 51 channel catfish were brought to the weigh station during the day. Mike Andrews of Grafton, ND took first place with his 22 lb. 3 oz. whopper catfish, which also netted him a cash prize of $1750.00.
