Lawnmower races kick up dust and some interest

Lawnmower racing has been blossoming in the area and was a feature at the Moose Fest activities last Saturday. They may not corner as nice as the NASCAR units, but they provide excitement all the same.
The mowers roared and the dust flew as ten racers competing in three heats of Maverick Lawnmower races at the Moose Fest on Saturday, August 9 at the Karlstad Eagles.
Brian Lee of Badger placed 1st; Brandon Norberg of Warren placed 2nd; and Deric Erickson of Halma finishing 3rd.
In the dash for cash, Brian Lee placed 1st, Ricky Clow of Orleans placed 2nd and Deric Erickson 3rd.
In the Maverick Classic race, Roy Mantei of Karlstad placed 1st, Brian Lee 2nd and Deric Erickson 3rd.

The next race will be at Lake Bronson's Town and Country Days at the Maverick Bar on August 16 at 5 PM. Followed by Labor Day weekend at the Maverick on August 30 at 5 PM.
