A sneak peek

“I’m extremely excited, “ Ron Careme said. “What it is today is what I envisioned it to be 10 weeks ago.”
Ron was speaking about his soon-to-be opened Anton’s Steakhouse and Unwinder Sports Bar here in Greenbush. He is looking as the opening date around July 1.
Alicia and I were invited for a sneak preview, so Alicia with her camera and I with pen and paper in hand were on our way.
Warm, rich earth-tone colors enhance the walls and tiled floors. Beautiful artistry work by Becky Sorenson of Detroit Lakes proves to be very eye-catching.
“The interior walls are designed to represent the outside of a French Provincial structure,” Mr. Careme said.
Painted-on street lamp posts bring an extra touch to the walls of the dining area. Situated below the pendant lighting are solid oak tables and chairs that offer seating for a capacity of 55 guests. Some of the tables are expandable, allowing seating from 10 to 12 people at one sitting.
The color scheme carries over into the Unwinder Sports Bar, which will have a capacity of 60 to 65.
Here one’s eyes are instantly drawn to the clever quotes at various places on the walls. As an example:
Everyone pulls for David, no one roots for Goliath.
--Wilt Chamberlin
A nickel ain’t worth a dime anymore.
--Yogi Berra
I went to a fight the other night and hockey game broke out.
--Rodney Dangerfield

Justin Howard of Strathcona will fill the role as a full-fledged manager.
“He makes just as many decision as I do,” Ron stated. “Everyone is very important here. No one is any higher than anyone else, including the owner-manager.”
The staff members have been hired; all the orders such as food, beverages, uniforms, etc., are in.
The over-all new business venture has a ways to go yet before total completion.
Ron said, “This is very much a work in progress; this is not a final destination. There will be a greater transformation to come.
“I want Anton’s and the Unwinder something the people of Greenbush to be proud of...I want it to be their place.”
Ron is very thankful to all of the people who have rolled up their sleeves and pitched in to help. So much has been accomplished in a short time; it couldn’t have been done without them.
Stay tuned...it won’t be long now before the doors of Anton’s Steakhouse and Unwinder Sports Bar will be swinging open for business.
