Donnelly Hetteen

Donnelly L. Hetteen, age 74 of Roseau, passed away peacefully at the Greenbush Manor on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 with his loving daughters present.
Donnelly was born to Ellen (Nelson) and Oscar Hetteen and raised in the Roseau area. He graduated from Roseau High School in 1952. He married Naomi Jenson in 1954 and they had four children, Julie, Cindy, Kelly and Brian. He moved his family to Arizona, where they remained until 1967. He worked in R and D at Polaris Industries for sometime, and then worked for several different establishments, and was also a pronounced auto mechanic.
He had a beautiful voice and loved to play the guitar and harmonica, much to the delight of his audience. He always said his greatest achievement was his children whom he loved and cherished very much.
He is survived by his children, Julie (Jerry) Wellen of Little Falls, MN, Cindy (Steve) Butler of Roseau, Kelly (Steve) Solom of Roseau, and Brian Hetteen of Flat Rock, NC; siblings, Gordon (Elsie) Hetteen of Edmond, WA, Lola (Bob) Knutson of Prescott Valley, AZ and Dollie Hetteen of Prescott Valley, AZ; grandchildren, Christopher, Sara, Melissa, Joshua, Adam, Heather, Nicole, Cassandra, and Cameron; nieces, Wendy and Robin and nephews, Dave and Ron and their families and several great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oscar and Ellen “Sissy” Hetteen; brother, Stanley Hetteen and grandson, Luke Solom.
Funeral services were held on Friday, July 25th at Helgeson Funeral Home in Roseau. Interment is at the Malung Cemetery.
