Arthur Thompson

Arthur C. Thompson, age 89 of Badger, MN passed away July 28, 2008 at McIntosh Manor, McIntosh, MN. Arthur C. Thompson was born May 16, 1919 in Badger, MN the son of the late Halvor and Maren (Jorgenson) Thompson.
He attended country school in the Badger area. He grew to manhood and married Kathryn Andol with whom he had children Marilyn Rud of Littleton, CO, Wesley Thompson (deceased), Bonnie Thompson of St. Paul, MN, Beverly (Craig) Tedder of N.C., and Norma Thompson (deceased). He later married Sandra Waage of Greenbush, MN with whom he had Melanie (Titus) Bates of Chicago, IL. He also helped to raise his step children Twilla (Paul) Wollin of Karlstad, MN, Lori Waage of East Grand Forks, MN, and Brian (Trish) Waage of Greenbush, MN.
Throughout his life he has worked at various jobs including Polaris Industries and farmed for many years. Arthur served in WW II and was a member of the Badger VFW and several other military affiliations.
He had a great passion for horses and for many years had thoroughbred horses racing in Winnipeg, MB.
He will be greatly and lovingly missed as he was known as a man of few words and respected for his quiet and gentle ways. He never had a bad word to say about anyone.
Loving family members that survive Arthur are his children, step children and grandchildren: Sidney, Michelle, Shawna, Tara, Deanna, Matthew, Timothy, Titus, Jr., Shaquille, Tatianna, Isaiah, Jacory, Justice, Cassandra, Sheree, Brittany, Danielle, Brennen, Kagen, Daniel, Brandon, Shaun and Nathan. Great-grandchildren: Billie, Aubrey, Blaine, Anissa, Elijah and Jacob.
One sister; Hardis Gunderson, sister-in-law, Betty Thompson, several nieces and nephews, and special friend Joyce Aasen.
Arthur is preceded in death by his wife Sandra (Sandstrom-Waage) Thompson, siblings; Trygve, John, Minnie, Andrew, Jenny; son Wesley, daughter Norma, and granddaughter Donna.
Funeral services were held Friday, August 1, 2008 at the United Free Lutheran Church in Greenbush. Interment is in the Badger Creek Cemetery.
