Marcella Joel

A memorial service for Marcella Joel of Badger was held on Thursday, July 31, 2008 at Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Roseau. Helgeson Funeral Chapel of Roseau is handling the arrangements.
Marcella was born on August 13, 1940 to Orvel and Mildred (Warner) Hamilton in Jump River, WI. She attended school in Wisconsin and graduated from Chippewa Falls, WI in 1958.
On July 25, 1959 she and James Joel were united in marriage in Albert Lea, MN. They lived in Albert Lea for some time and moved to the Twin Cities and settled in Columbia Heights and started a family. They had four children: Jim, Dave, Tom, and Susan.
After Jim retired they moved to Brainerd, MN. They lived there for a number of years and then moved to Badger where they’ve lived for the past five years. They belonged to the Baptist Church in Badger.
Marcella enjoyed crafts, pen paling, gardening, mission work and was the WMU director. She also liked to sew and quilt.
Marcella Joel passed away on July 28 at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau. She was 67 years old.
She is survived by her husband, James of Badger; sons, Jim (Shelly) of Brainerd, Dave (Tina) of Baxter, MN, Tom (Carmen) of Anoka, MN, and daughter, Susan (David) Norstebon of Badger; sisters, May (Lloyd) Mueller of Albert Lee, MN, and Leona Toon of Kentucky; brothers, Ray Trester and Charles Hamilton of Colby, WI.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Orvel and Mildred, and two infant brothers.
