Summer Rec Golf Wrap Up
Alicia WicklundOn Tuesday, July 22, 2008, summer rec golf wrapped up after meeting for seven Tuesday’s this summer.
According to BGMR golf coach Christine Adrian, there were about 20 kids in the beginner group, as well as another 20 in the advanced group that had been in summer rec before.
Each group golfed for one and a half to two hours each time they met. Beginners golfed from 10:00-11:30 a.m. and the advanced group golfed from 11:30 a.m.- 1:30 p.m.
Due to the large amount of kids, former BGMR girls golf athlete, Allison Waage, helped out one day with the beginners.
“The turnout of kids this year has been more than ever before,” Adrian said.
She continued to say, “Golf is a great lifetime sport and is good exercise for anyone.”
A special thanks goes out to Central Boiler, Agassiz Reality, Border State Bank, and Jim’s Games Supply for their donations, as well as a thank you to Oakview Golf Course for opening the course up for us.
