Adeline Sjostrand, 92, of Hallock, Minnesota and formerly of Lake
Bronson, passed away at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock
early Wednesday morning, November 7, 2012.  Adeline Nordling was born
at Kennedy, Minnesota on September 29, 1920 to Oscar and Agda
(Larsen) Nordling.  She attended school in Lake Bronson and graduated
in 1938.  On October 19, 1940 she was united in marriage to Oscar
Sjostrand at Lancaster, Minnesota. Adeline and Oscar settled in
Hazelton Township of Kittson County and farmed there, raising small
grains, dairy and beef cattle.  Oscar passed away on June 21, 1982.
Adeline worked at Anderson’s Pharmacy for several years and in 2003
moved to  Heritage Apartments in Hallock. She became a resident of
Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in 2006.  Adeline was always a
gracious host and offered coffee and baked goodies to all of her
quests.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, WELCA and the
Hazelton Homemakers Club.  
    Family members include daughters, Sandra (Leonard) McKinney,
Anchorage, AK and Linda (Lewis) Boychuk, Hallock; a son, Clayton
(Jean) Sjostrand, Lake Bronson; five grandchildren, Steven
(Kathryn-Kerby) McKinney, Kevin McKinney, Jennifer (Brye) Warner,
Taylor (Jenna) Sjostrand and Whitney (Kirsten) Sjostrand; great
grandchildren, Donya, Jerrilynn, Lucas, Isabel and Henry; a great
great granddaughter, Norah; a sister-in-law, Hulda Melbo, Rogers, AR;
and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Oscar; a grandson, Charles; an infant grandchild; a
brother, Alvin and sister, Alvida Nordling.
    Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, November 10th, 2012 at
11:00 a.m. in Zion Lutheran Church at Lake Bronson.  Interment will
be in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson.  Visitation will be held at
the church for one hour prior to the funeral service.  Rev. Kathy
Levenhagen, presiding; Sue Albrecht, soloist; Diane Younggren,
accompianst; Lenore Olson, organist.  Honorary casket bearers will be
Nurses and Staff at  Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center. Casket
bearers will be James Ristad, Curtis Forfang, Richard Lambert and
Steve Blomquist. The Austin Funeral Home of Hallock is in charge of
