Gunda Bertilrud, 98

Gunda Adelia Bertilrud, 98, of Duluth passed away on Monday, April 12, 2010 at Solvay Hospice House.
Gunda was born on August 7, 1911 in Greenbush, MN to Mikkel and Annie (Everson) Bertilrud.  After attending school, Gunda moved to Duluth and worked for Northwestern Bell. She worked in many departments of the company and was a very devoted employee. After her retirement in 1970, Gunda spent a great deal of time helping others. She was a compassionate caregiver.  She enjoyed traveling and was an active member of First Lutheran Church and was also involved with Top Notchers  and bible study.
She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Arnold, Edwin and Rudolph; sisters,  Clara Boe, Olga Thomsen, Mable Erickson and Lillian Lennon.
Gunda is survived by sister, Helen Kilen; brother, Maurice (Arlene) Bertilrud both of Greenbush, MN; sisters-in-law, Verna, Joan and Myrtle Bertilrud and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. David Arvold.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 P.M. Thursday, April 15, 2010 at First Lutheran Church 1100 East Superior St. Duluth. with Reverend Judd Larson officiating.
