Thomas Kluzak, 89

Thomas Kluzak was born on October 2, 1920 in Northland Township of Polk County, MN to the son of James and Rose (Kopecky) Kluzak. As a young boy Thomas started working for various farmers hauling bundles at the age of 12. He continued working for area farmers living in the Euclid, MN area for a year and then the Greenbush area for a year. On November 4, 1946 he was united in marriage to Laura Johnson. In 1952 he started farming with his father and they made their home in the Tabor, MN area from then on. In 1954 he began working during the winter for American Crystal Sugar Company in East Grand Forks, MN where he worked 36 Campaigns. After he retired from farming his passion, they moved to East Grand Forks, MN where they made their home until moving into the Good Samaritan Center Heritage Pines. Thomas moved to Valley Eldercare Center in Grand Forks, ND on April 7, 2010. Thomas was a member of the Farmers Union, Modern Woodmen, Western Fraternal Life Association, Cemetery Board for the Czech Cemetery in Tabor, MN and was also a life member of Eagles Club #350 and VFW Post 3817 he also was a member of East Grand Forks, Senior Citizens Center where he also delivered senior meals.
Family members who survive Thomas include his wife Laura of East Grand Forks, MN daughter, Bonnie (Wesley) Paulsen of Greenbush, MN, son, Gary (Julene) Kluzak of East Grand Forks, MN; grandchildren, Kayleen (Kevin) Longworth, Wayne Paulsen, Adam (Wendy Carey) Kluzak and Andrew (Kelly Sweere) Kluzak; great-grandchildren, Jordynn Longworth, Ella Longworth and Joseph Kluzak; sister, Irene Taus, brother-in-law, Leo Johnson, sister-in-law, Betty Jean (Marvin) Krabenhoft along with many nieces and nephews.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Helen Kruta and Rose Kaml, brother, Henry Kluzak, brothers-in-law, George Kruta, Paul Kaml and Wilfred Taus, sisters-in-law, Rose Swartz and Francis Johnson
Funeral Service: 10:30 AM on Saturday, May 1, 2010 in First Lutheran Church, 203 5th St. NW, East Grand Forks, MN
Visitation: One Hour before Funeral Service on Saturday May 1, in First Lutheran Church
Interment: Czech Cemetery ~ Tabor, Minnesota
