Dennis Lund, 71

Dennis Lund, 71, of Karlstad, Minnesota passed away at MeritCare
Hospital in Thief River Falls, Minnesota on Sunday, May 9th, 2010.
Dennis Lee Lund was born June 22, 1938 in Springbrook Township to
Norris and Margaret (Kalin) Lund.  He was baptized and confirmed at
University Lutheran Church of Hope in Minneapolis, Minnesota.  Dennis
called Karlstad his home for most of his 71 years except for time
spent in the U.S. Navy and working in Alaska, on the Iron Range and
in Minneapolis.  He worked at Marvin Windows in Warroad for 14 years,
retiring in 2005.  Being of a quiet nature he enjoyed the outdoors.
Besides hunting and fishing he spent the summers growing a large
garden and generously shared the fruits of his labor with family and
friends. 
    Dennis is survived  by three brothers, Donald, Barry and John
(Denise) Lund all of Karlstad; nine sisters, Norma DeVore, Pocatello,
ID, Phyllis Borg, Red Lake Falls, MN, Gloria (Dr. Jack) Grabow,
Rochester, MN, Anita (Gene) Milam, Minneapolis, Geraldine (Myron)
Swanson, Hallock, Patsy (John) Erickson, Bemidji, Joy Montague,
Minneapolis, Sandra (Joe) Nuccetelli, Severna Park, MD and Karen
(Richard) Lyngholm, Novi, MI; and many nieces and nephews.  He was
preceded in death  by his parents; a brother, Russell; two nephews,
Mitchell Swanson and Patrick DeVore; and two brothers-in-law, Harold
Borg and Al DeVore.
    Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, May 14th, 2010 at 2:00
p.m. in Hegland Lutheran Church, rural Karlstad with a family service
in the church at 1:00 p.m.  Interment will be in the Karlstad City
Cemetery.  Rev. David Riveness, presiding; Deborah Boen, organist,
Gary and Howard Hodne, duet.  Honorary casket bearers will be nieces
and nephews.  The Austin-Hughes Funeral Home of Hallock is in charge
of arrangements.
