Lake of the Woods School Board Meeting

Members present: Chair Ken Horntvedt, Clerk Karoline Ketchum, Treasurer Bruce Hasbargen, Director Tim Lyon, Director Sunshine Dorow and Superintendent Steve Wymore
Members absent: District #3 vacant
Motion by Dorow, seconded by Lyon, to approve amended agenda as presented. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Ketchum, seconded by Lyon, to approve the consent agenda with detail contained in the board packet dated 4/20/2010. Motion passed unanimously.
Motion by Hasbargen, seconded by Dorow, to approve RIGHT-OF-WAY EASEMENT with Wikstrom Telephone Company, Inc. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Ketchum, seconded by Lyon, to approve 2010-2011 Resolution for Membership in the Minnesota State High School League. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Lyon, seconded by Dorow, to approve Resolution placing Ms. Katie Hasbargen on unrequested leave of absence, 2/7 FTE. Roll call: Ketchum/Aye, Dorow/Aye, Hasbargen/Aye, Lyon/Aye, Horntvedt/Aye. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Hasbargen, seconded by Dorow, to approve effective May 1st, 2010 of substitute paraprofessional pay increase to $9.20/hour. Motion carried with Ketchum abstaining.
Motion by Hasbargen, seconded by Lyon, to make motion to table the May 24th, 2010 Regular School Board of Education meeting – Activity Fee and Gate Prices for 2010-2011. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Ketchum, seconded by Lyon, to approve Nancy Olson as Lake of the Woods School Election Clerk for 2010 election. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Dorow, seconded by Lyon, to approve LakeWood Nursing contract for 2010-2011 school year for $21,672. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Hasbargen, seconded by Ketchum, to authorize to sign Sparsely Populated Agricultural Education Contract with UMC for 2010-2011. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Ketchum, seconded by Dorow, to approve of a RESOLUTION PROPOSING TO PLACE MS. JENNY MOORMAN ON UNREQUESTED LEAVE OF ABSENCE 2.5/7 FTE HIGH SCHOOL TEACHER, because of financial condition of the school district and due to decrease in enrollment, effective at the end of the 2009-2010 school year. Motion carried unanimously. Roll call: Lyon/Aye, Hasbargen/Aye, Dorow/Aye, Horntvedt/Aye, Ketchum/Aye.
Motion by Lyon, seconded by Ketchum, to accept resignation from District #390 School Board Member/Treasurer Bruce Hasbargen. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Lyon, seconded by Dorow, to adjourn at 7:57 p.m. Motion carried unanimously.
