Dorothy Marie Miller, 90

Dorothy Marie Miller, age 90, of Hallock, MN, passed away at the
Kittson Memorial Health Care Center in Hallock, MN, on June 19, 2010.
Dorothy was born on September 8, 1919, in Aneroid, Saskatchewan,
Canada.  Dorothy was the youngest daughter of James Hammond Turner
and Ethel Marie Turner of Reliance, SK.  She attended country school
at Reliance Divide country school through the eighth grade.   
Dorothy immigrated to the United States in 1935 and completed high
school at Humboldt, MN, in 1939.  Thereafter she  enrolled  at the
Northwest School of Agriculture in Crookston, MN , completing
commercial educational training in 1940.  While at Northwest School
of Agriculture Dorothy met her husband to be,  Harvey Norwood
Pederson.  Dorothy married Harvey Pederson on August 29, 1940, at
Lake Bronson, MN.  Together they farmed in Springbrook Township until
Harvey’s death in December 1968.  Dorothy became a nurse’s  aide in
1967 and worked for 21 years  in that capacity at both  the Karlstad
and  Kittson Memorial Hospitals.  Dorothy married Ralph Miller of
Humboldt, MN in July 1977 and they made their home in rural Humboldt
where Ralph was engaged in farming.  Dorothy was a family oriented
individual who enjoyed gardening, baking, traveling, and several
social organizations.  She loved her church family at the Pembina
Evangelical Church.  Dorothy enjoyed traveling with her friends and

Oswego, OR, James (Marcia) Pederson, Kennedy, MN, Glenn (Mary)
Pederson, Roseville, MN, Faye (Chuck) Brinkman, Savage, MN, and Ricky
Pederson, Lakeville, MN; seven grandchildren; four
step-grandchildren; two great grandchildren; four step-great
grandchildren; one step great great grandchild; three nieces and one
nephew. Dorothy is also survived by sisters-in-law, Carole Pederson,
Adeline Ingebrigtsen, Dorothy Miller and brother-in-law, Curtis
Dorothy was preceded in death by her first husband Harvey Pederson
and second husband Ralph Miller, a son Dale Pederson, her parents
James and Ethel Turner,  sisters Grace Evelyn (Turner) Bates,
Frances Cecelia (Turner) McFate, and  step granddaughter,  Nina
Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, June 26th, 2010 at 10:30
a.m. in the Pembina Evangelical Free Church at Pembina.  Visitation
will be at the Austin-Hughes Funeral Home on Friday evening from 6 to
8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.  .  Committal services will
be in the Karlstad City Cemetery, Karlstad, MN at 1:30 p.m. with a
time of fellowship at  First Lutheran Church in Karlstad immediately
following.  Rev. Mason Peters, presiding; Leanne Pederson and Ronald
Fossell, soloists.  Casket bearers will be Tamra Pyrtle, Carey
Pederson, Kristin Merkel, Patrick Pederson, Karyn Pederson, Leanne
Pederson and Rachele Lister.
