Earl Mattson, 87

Earl Mattson, 87, of Lake Bronson, Minnesota passed away at his home
on Sunday, June 20th, 2010. Earl was born November 30, 1922 on the
family farm near Lake Bronson. He served with the U.S. Army from
1944 to 1946. On May 3, 1948 he was united in marriage to Violet
Pearson at Hallock, Minnesota. They settled in Grand Forks, North
Dakota where Earl worked for Glendenning and Lewis Trucking until his
retirement.
Earl is survived by his wife, Violet; a son, Earlyn, Grand
Forks, ND; two daughters, Valerie (Stephen) Stoltman, Thief River
Falls, MN, Verlene Hill, Lake Bronson; nine grandchildren and five
great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two
brothers, Albert and Ralph; a sister, Hazel and an infant sister.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, June 23, 2010 at 2:00
p.m. in Zion Lutheran Church at Lake Bronson. Interment will be in
Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson. Visitation will be at the church
for one hour prior to the service. Pastor Kathy Levenhagen,
presiding; Lenore Olson, oganist and Galen Nordin, soloist. Casket
bearers will be Earl’s grandsons. Military honors will be accorded
by the Halma-Lake Bronson American Legion. The Austin-Hughes Funeral
Home is in charge of arrangements.
