William Nyland, 88
William Henry Nyland passed away on September 7, 2010 at the LakeWood Health Center in Baudette at the age of 88.
William was born on November 24, 1921 in Chicago, IL to William and Mable Nyland.  He attended school in the Chicago area and Kenosha, WI.  He and Mildred M. Beottcher were married on March 23, 1946.  Bill entered the U.S. Army during WWII, serving in North Africa and Italy.  He owned and operated his business repairing jukeboxes in Skokee, IL from 1950-1978.  After his retirement in 1978, he and Mille moved to Mountain Home, Arkansas, and later to Baudette in 2000.  
He enjoyed woodworking and playing cards and spent time volunteering for his church and nursing home.  He will be remembered as a kind and caring man, and for his wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Millie Nyland of Baudette; daughters, Linda (Dick) Day of Kansas City, MO and Ellen (Church) Richards of Baudette, MN; grandchild, Wayne; sisters, Nancy Rehfeldt and Betty Blair both of Florida.  He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Ellen Brown, Ethel Norcroft and Mable Mankins; and a brother, Tom Nyland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, September 11th at 4:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Baudette with Vicar Jon Christensen.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.  Interment will be at the Elm Park Cemetery.  Military rites by the Baudette Veterans Ceremonial Squad.
