Paul Stanley Pomplun , 61

Paul Stanley Pomplun passed away peacefully on September 26, 2010 at his home near Warroad at the age of 61 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Paul was born on October 31, 1948 in Grand Forks, ND to LaVerne (Stadstad) and Roy Pomplun.  He grew up in Greenbush, MN being confirmed at the Bethel Lutheran Church in 1963 and graduating from Greenbush High School in 1967.  He moved to Warroad, MN and worked at the Conoco Station with his father.  He and Marilyn (Nesheim) were married on September 12, 1970.  Paul worked as a mechanic for Farmers Union Oil Company for 35 years.  Paul loved his work and the satisfaction that came with helping other people.
He also enjoyed working outside taking care of the lawn, spending time with his family, teasing his grandchildren and traveling.  He liked to watch the Twins, Vikings and the Timerwolves and watching his daughters with their sporting events.  He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church.
He will be remembered for his “easy-going” attitude and willingness to be up for any activity.  He was a very loving person with a heart of gold!
