Kenneth Pantzer, 81

Kenneth Pantzer, 81, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at Altru
Hospital in Grand Forks on Saturday, October 16th, 2010  after a
short, courageous battle with cancer.   Kenneth Andrew Pantzer was
born March 10, 1929 at Hallock to Isaac and Agnes (Lindstrom)
Pantzer.  He attended District #22 School and the Northwest School of
Agriculture in Crookston.  Kenneth served with the U.S. Army during
the Korean War and was discharged in 1955 after two years of service.
On June 14, 1953 he was united in marriage to Lois Dipple at Stephen,
Minnesota.  They lived and farmed on the family farm until 1967 when
they moved into Hallock.  Kenneth also worked several winters for his
father-in-law at the Uptown Standard service station.  He was a
member of Grace Lutheran Church; the Hallock American Legion and the
Hallock Eagles.  
    Family members include his wife, Lois; sons, Bruce (Virginia), Grand
Forks, ND and Brian (Kristie), Hallock; a daughter, Barbara Pantzer,
Hallock;  three granddaughters, Jennifer, Alice and Margaret; a
sister-in-law, Joyce (Dick) Paschke, Thompson, ND; and nieces and
nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law,
Ralph Turner and a nephew, Kim Turner.
    Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, October 20th, 2010 at
11:00 a.m. at  Grace Lutheran Church in Hallock.  Interment will be
in Greenwood Cemetery, Hallock.  Rev. Craig Bowyer, presiding;
Virginia Pantzer, soloist. Honorary casket bearers will be Kenneth’s
granddaughters, Jennifer, Alice and Margaret, nieces and nephews,
Kreig, Karla, Kurt and Kristen, and the Hallock American Legion Honor
Guard.  Casket bearers will be Linden Anderson, Joel Muir, Gary
Johnson, Paul Johnson, Fritz Glidden and Donald Craigmile.
Visitation will be held at the church on Tuesday evening from 6 to 9
p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m. 

 

The Austin-Hughes Funeral Home of Hallock is in charge of arrangements.
