Helen Hetland, 96, of Thief River Falls, MN died on Saturday, October 09, 2010 at her residence surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM with a 7:00 PM
prayer service at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, MN.
Visitation will also be held for one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 AM Saturday, October 16, 2010
at the Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls, MN with Pastor Bruce

Helen Myhrer was born August 20, 1914 in Stillwater, MN, the daughter
of the Reverend Thorvald Myhrer and Bertha (Kjommestad) Myhrer. She
attended school in Newfolden, MN.
At a young age, Helen worked at a restaurant in Newfolden. As a
young woman, she moved to St. Paul to work in the home of a wealthy family.
She always sent home part of her wages to help her parents. From the
1950’s until the early 1970’s, Helen worked part-time at Mostue Floral Co.
Helen was united in marriage to Lue Hetland at her parent’s home in Newfolden, MN with her father, Reverend Thorvald Myhrer, officiating. To this union two daughters were born, Patricia and Celeste.
She was a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls, EFC White Cross and Berean Fellowship, P.T.A. President, and also was a
Girl Scout Troop Leader and Officer and had the same troop through all their years.
Helen is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Hetland and Celeste Hetland, both of Thief River Falls, MN; sisters-in-law, Verna Myhrer, Betty Peterson, Lillian Von Schneiweis; many nieces and nephews and Helen’s devoted little dog, Bree.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lue; brothers and sisters: Kore Myhrer, Elfie Sunde, Helmer Myhrer, Verna Ehrle and Marshall Myhrer; and her parents.
