Virginia Lillian Schires, the daughter of the late Floyd and Anna (Cordora) Culp, on April 27, 1920, at Fargo, North Dakota. She attended school and grew to womanhood at Argusville, Minnesota, and in 1944, she married Arthur Ahneman. and they resided near Pencer, Minnesota, until his death in 1976. She worked a Polaris Industries and Marvin Windows for several years. On May 23, 1980, Virginia was united in marriage to Clarence Schires at Greenbush, The couple made their home in the Pencer/Skime community until 2003 when they moved to Baudette. Virginia loved puzzles, crocheting, long walks and visiting with family and friends. Clarence passed away March 28, 2006, and Virginia continued her home in Baudette, most recently at the Lakewood Care Center there where she passed away on Saturday morning, November 27, 2010, at the age of 90 years and 7 months.
She is survived by her children: Barbara (Ronnie) Umhauser, of Warroad, Minnesota; Clifford Erickson, also of Warroad; Shirley (Dean) Wiersma, of Baudette; and Faye (Stanley) Rudsinske, of Austin, Minnesota; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; one brother: John Culp, of Valley City, North Dakota, in addition to several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Virginia was preceded in death by her first and second husbands, her parents, daughter: Janice and two infants; one sister: Violet; and three brothers: Raymond, Francis and Bernard.
