Lenor “Bud” Hamilton, 92

Bud was born on August 8, 1918, in Kimball, MN, to Isabelle (Cornell) and Erwin Hamilton. Bud’s family moved to the Baudette area in 1929, settling on the Bankton Trail.
Bud married Charlotte Bowman on June 18, 1938, and settled on a farm in the Carp area. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. In the 1950s, they moved to the Iron Range where Bud worked as a mechanic for Skubic Brothers until his retirement in 1983, when they returned to the farm in Carp.
Bud continued farming, logging, running his sawmill, and repairing equipment and was active throughout his entire life. He enjoyed restoring old tractors and for many years displayed his collection at tractor shows and in parades. He will be remembered as a fiercely independent, tireless worker, never letting weather, illness, or even injury slow him down. His strength continued to amaze even during his battle with cancer.
Bud is survived by his 7 children, Bill (Mary) Hamilton of McAllen, TX; Becky (Billy) Aery of Deltona, FL; Bob (Jean) Hamilton of Tower, MN; Brad Hamilton (Debbi Fremling) of Mountain Iron, MN; Barb (Ken) Mattson of AZ; Beth (Ron) Hooper of Side Lake, MN; Brenda Hamilton of Eden Prairie, MN; 12 grandchildren, Tony Provini, Richie Provini, Jeff Provini, Leslie Hamilton, David (Cindy) Hamilton, Brian (Kathy) Hamilton, Mike (Tammy) Hamilton, Troy (Lori) Hooper, Todd Hooper, Cassie Johnson, Lauren Johnson, and Alex Johnson; 8 great-grandchildren, Tori, Tina, Jordan, Steven, Allison, Alec, Noah, and Cole.
