Myrtle Lillian Larson of Baudette, MN passed away on December 16, 2010 at the LakeWood Health Center at the age of 80.
Myrtle was born on April 1, 1930 in Grenora, ND to Signe (Hanson) and Andrew Carlson. She moved to the Baudette, MN area at the age of 10, and attended the Hagen School in the Spooner area. She and Clarence Larson were married on April 17, 1949 in Baudette. Myrtle worked at Al’s Steakhouse, before she and Clarence opened the Countryhouse Restaurant in 1961. They owned and operated Countryhouse for many years in addition to her work at home and raising her children.
She enjoyed gardening and working with flowers and yard work. She enjoyed entertaining people and took pride in her attention to detail. She also enjoyed working on puzzles and playing the accordion in her younger years. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary and First Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her children, Larry (Roxanne “Tweety”) Larson, Dian (Neal) Slick and Carol (Randy) Orton all of Baudette; 7 grandchildren, Kellie, Kayla, Allison, Christopher, Megan, Heather, and Erin; 4 great-grandchildren, Tanner, Ella, Cameron, and Mason; and siblings, Melvin Carlson of Baudette and Ardean (Buttons) Carlson of Bemidji.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings, Mable, Clifford, and Arvid.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 21st at 11 AM at First Lutheran Church in Baudette. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at the Elm Park Ceme
