Emilie Blazejewski, 90

Emilie Blazejewski, 90, of Hallock, Minnesota passed away at Kittson
Memorial Hospital in Hallock on Tuesday evening, December 28th, 2010.
Emilie Smidt was born March 18, 1920 in Manitoba, Canada to Adolph
and Valerie Smidt.  She grew up in Manitoba and attended school
there.  On October 29, 1939 she was united in marriage to Valentine
Blazejewski at Tolstoi, Manitoba, Canada.  The couple settled in
Richardville Township of Kittson County and farmed there until their
retirement.  Valentine passed away on February 13, 1983.  Emilie was
a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and was active in several
women’s groups.  Emilie enjoyed crocheting, knitting and baking for
family and friends.
    Family members include a son, Tony (Betty) Blaze, Hallock, MN; a
daughter, Janice (Walt) Krueger, Lake Elmo, MN; 8 grandchildren; Dan
(Brenda) Krueger, Cherlynn Krueger, Dave (Becky) Krueger, Chris
(Candice) Blaze, Heather (Justin) Schlenker, Jennifer Blazejewski,
Jenessa Blazejewski and Julie Blazejewski;  7 great grandchildren,
Ben, Alayna, Kenna, Marcellus, Jack, Leighton and Beckham;  two
brothers, William (Antonette) Smidt, Steinbach, Manitoba and Adolph
(Gail) Smidt, Winnipeg, Manitoba; four sisters, Mary Soberaski,
Hallock, Frances Jaculak, Winnipeg, Tillie Schneider, Winnipeg and
Vickie Shambroch, Winnipeg; and many nieces and nephews.  Emilie was
preceded in death by her husband; a son, Dennis in 2008 and a
brother, Leon.
    Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, January 3, 2011 at 11:00
a.m. in St. Patrick’s Catholic, Hallock.  Interment will be in the
Holy Rosary Catholic Cemetery at Lancaster, Minnesota. Rev. William
DeCrans, presiding; Sharlene Klegstad, organist.  Honorary casket
bearers will be Emilie’s grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Casket bearers will be Charles Olsonoski, Donnie Schmiedeberg, Joe
Jaszczak, Leo Jaszczak, Dick Olson and Jim Regelous.  Visitation will
be held on Sunday from  6 to 8 p.m. in the Austin-Hughes Funeral
Chapel at Hallock with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
