Genevieve Gonshorowski, 83, of Greenbush, MN, died graciously and with dignity on Sunday, December 26, 2010 in LifeCare Greenbush Manor in Greenbush.
Genevieve Gonshorowski was born Genevieve Chrzanowski, the daughter of Joseph and Lucille (Mooney) Chrzanowski, on January 31, 1927 in rural Greenbush, MN. She grew up there and attended grade school near her home and for a year attended the convent school at Warsaw, ND. She graduated from Greenbush High School in 1944 and worked in Greenbush, Fairmont, MN and St. Paul, MN. She married Felix Gonshorowski on October 14, 1947 at Leo, MN. They lived at Boston, Mass. for a short time before returning to Minnesota. Felix died on March 3, 2006. Genevieve had worked briefly at the turkey plant in Greenbush, but was more noted for her work and care giving at the Greenbush Hospital and Nursing Home, where she worked for over 50 years as an aide, in the laundry, but mostly in the kitchen where she mentored future cooks, and fed the residents with her love and her good cooking.
Genevieve was a genuine life-long learner, mentor and caregiver. She spread her peace and her wisdom to all she met.
She is survived by their 5 children—Judy (Dominic) Pulczinski of Greenbush, Wanda (Lynn) Marek of Hettinger, ND, Barbara (Duane) Lundemo of Sidney, Montana, Stephen (Georgette) Gonshorowski of Dakota City, Nebraska & Mary (Kenneth) Stusynski of Strandquist, MN.
15 grandchildren—Jason (Nicole) Pulczinski, Janelle Pulczinski, Jesse (Samantha) Pulczinski, Keith Marek, Paul (Heidi) Marek, Amy (Matthew) Nudell, Jeremy Lundemo (special friend, Kelli), Jennifer Lundemo, Erik (Sally) Whitney, Adam Gonshorowski, Andra Gonshorowski (fiancée, Taylor), Elizabeth (Michael) Sobotta, Aaron Stusynski, Katherine (Weston) Haugan & Joseph Stusynski.
10 great-grandchildren—Olivia, Alexander, Isaiah, Lucas, Maxton, Brooklyn, Tobias, Maggie, Lisa & Kayla.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother—Leonard Chrzanowski & sister—Dorothy Kasprowicz.
Funeral Mass was held on Thursday, December 30, 2010 in Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush with Father Bill DeCrans, officiating. Music was provided by Family Choir with Jeanne Novacek accompanying on the piano. Readers were Keith & Paul Marek. Altar Servers were Joe Stusynski, Ely & Ethan Novacek. Gift Bearers were Genevieve’s great-grandchildren, escorted by their parents. Eucharistic ministers were Noah & Sarah Novacek. Casket Bearers were Aaron Stusynski, Jesse Pulczinski, Adam Gonshorowski, Erik Whitney, Martha Lystad Novacek, Bernard Gonshorowski, Dale, Luke, & Carter Novacek. Interment was in Blessed Sacrament Cemetery with Gieseke Funeral Chapel of Greenbush in charge of arrangements.
