Joe A. Boroski, 96

Joe A. Boroski, 96, of Lancaster, Minnesota passed away Monday,
January 24th, 2011 at Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock,
Minnesota.  Joe was born October 2, 1914 in Caribou Township of
Kittson County, Minnesota, the son of Steve and Caterina (Kushinski)
Boroski.  He grew up on the family farm and attended a country
school.  Joe married Julia Lipinski May 1, 1940 at  Holy Rosary
Catholic Church near Lancaster.  The couple settled in St. Joseph
Township and farmed there, retiring in 1977.  Joe and Julie moved
into Lancaster in 2000.  Julia passed away January 17th, 2003.  Joe
was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.  He  enjoyed hunting,
fishing, trapping, listening to the Twins and following Detroit Red
Wings hockey. He continued to raise a garden and help his son on the
farm during his retirement.
    Family members include a son, Joe (Cindy) Boroski, Lancaster; a
daughter, Joanne (Gary) Easter, Shoreview, MN; four grandchildren,
Stacy (Darin) Nelson, Perley, MN, Troy (Camille) Boroski, Herriman,
UT, Jennifer (Jeff) Wageman, Appleton, WI and Jessica (Tony) Dahl,
Circle Pines, MN; 11 great grandchildren, Logan, Lexi, Lauren, Kali,
Camden, Alanna, Jaidyn, Rylee, Avery, Mason and Jackson; a sister,
Helen (Lawrence) Potrament, Lancaster; a brother, Paul (Helen)
Boroski, Hallock, MN; sisters-in-law, Caroline Boroski, Grand Forks,
ND and Helen Boroski, New Hope, MN; as well as nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Julia; three brothers, Anton,
Victor and Martin; and a sister, Anne Satterlund.
    Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, January 28th, 2011 at
10:30 a.m. in Holy Rosary Catholic Church, rural Lancaster.
Interment will be in Holy Rosary Cemetery.  Rev. William DeCrans,
presiding; Ann Potrament, reader, Sharlene Klegstad, organist and
Eric Finney, soloist.  Honorary casket bearers will be Joe’s
grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Casket bearers will be Arlen
Lyberg, Danny Lyberg, Dean Lyberg, Rodney Potrament, Scott
Olsonawski, Roger Satterlund and longtime friend, Lloyd Farbo.
Visitation will be on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Austin
Funeral Home, Hallock, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m.
