Wayne Hickok, 83

Wayne Hickok, 83, of Karlstad and formerly of Lake Bronson,
Minnesota passed away on Saturday, March 5th, 2011 at Karlstad
Healthcare Center in Karlstad, Minnesota.  Wayne was born May 3, 1927
the son of Charles and Mary (Kelly) Hickok at Edgely, North Dakota.
Wayne spent most of his life west of Lake Bronson in Hazelton
Township.  Wayne was the chief cook and bottle washer in the Hickok
household, mainly helping his brother, George.  They were a good team
together.  Wayne liked to watch the men plant crops and harvest them
while standing outside his front door.  Wayne would help do odd jobs
for some people around Lake Bronson.  His real pride and joy was his
John Deere tractor, which was his transportation to town for
groceries, gas, and social visiting.  He may have been small in
stature, but big at heart, with a a great smile.  
    He is survived by his sisters, Alice Hickok and Shirly Gunnarson
both of Lake Bronson and brother, George, currently in Karlstad; as
well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families.  Wayne was
preceded in death by his parents; Charles and Mary; a sister, Mary
(Edwin) Blomquist; brothers, Lester Hickok, Theodore (Esther) Hickok,
Myron Hickok and Charles (Marion) Hickok.
    Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday evening, March 10th,
2011 at 7:00 p.m. in the Austin Funeral Chapel, Hallock.  Interment
will be in Riverside Cemetery, Lake Bronson.  Visitation will be held
for one hour prior to the service.  Pastor Kathy Levenhagen,
presiding; Marjorie Hawk, soloist and Sharlene Klegstad, pianist.
Honorary casket bearers will be all those in attendance.
