Lillian Tolpingrud, 77

Lillian was born on the family farm in Falun Township of Roseau County, MN to Christine (Olson) and Harry Friberg. Lillian was baptized and confirmed her faith in Christ at Bethel Covenant Church in Falun. She grew and attended school in Falun and later graduated from the Crookston A.C. She and Kenneth Tolpingrud were married on September 4, 1953 in Roseau. They moved to Baudette, MN, where Lillian stayed home to raise her five children. She also worked at the Care Center in Baudette for several years.
Lillian loved to follow her kids and all of their activities, especially the sporting events. She enjoyed fishing, playing board games, and was always good to the kids in the neighborhood. She will be remembered as a kind and giving person, with a wonderful sense of humor and a strong faith.
She is survived by her children, Mitchell Tolpingrud of Karlstad, MN, Karen (Daniel) Usiski of Rainy River, ONT, Karol (Michael) Schlosser of Carlos, MN, Michael (Kim) Tolpingrud of Grand Forks, ND, and Mathew (Judi) Tolpingrud of Coon Rapids, MN; 14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; sister, Eileen Howdahl of Clementson, MN and brother-in-laws, Darvin Johnson and Curtis Brandt.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Kenneth; granddaughter, Andrea; infant grandson, Michael; and sisters, Jean Ellen and Helen.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 14th at 11 AM at First Lutheran Church in Baudette, MN. Visitation will be on Sunday evening from 6-8 PM with a 7:30 Prayer Service at Helgeson Funeral Home in Baudette. Interment will be at a later date at the Elm Park Cemetery.
