Diana “Dee Dee” Stadem, 56

Diana “Dee Dee” Stadem age 56 of East Grand Forks, MN passed away on Friday, April 15, 2011 at her home in East Grand Forks, MN surrounded by family.
          Dee Dee was born on April 25, 1954 in Crookston, MN the daughter of Donald and Mickie (Acker) Mjoen. Dee Dee grew up and attended school in Crookston, graduating in 1972. Dee Dee married Paul Stadem on September 7, 1974 in Crookston. They made their home in Moorhead, MN for two years. In 1976 they moved to Minneapolis for Paul to attend Dental School. In 1980, they moved to East Grand Forks where they started a dentistry practice. Dee Dee worked at the practice until her children were born. Dee Dee dedicated herself to her children and family, in 1993 she began work as a paraprofessional in the East Grand Forks school system. She enjoyed spending time with her “Girlie-Girls” and relaxing at their cabin at Bad Medicine Lake. Dee Dee was also an active member of Mendenhall Presbyterian Church.
          During her long battle with cancer she never complained once, she was an excellent role model to the end.  We were blessed to have her in our lives; we just wish it was for longer.
          She is survived by her husband: Paul Stadem, East Grand Forks, MN; children: Nick Stadem, Minneapolis, MN and Erica Stadem, Washington, DC; parents: Donald and Mickie Mjoen, Crookston, MN; brothers: Michael (Gretchen) Mjoen, Eden Prairie, MN and Mark Mjoen, Coon Rapids, MN; sisters: Debra (Ronald) Kroll, East Grand Forks, MN and Dawn (Anthony) Manetta, New York, NY; and many nieces and nephews.
