Evelyn Maxine Crompton, 85

Born 4/14/26–Died 4/25/11
Maxine passed away comforted by her husband Robert while at The Palms of Ft. Myers, Florida.
Maxine was born in Hamilton, Illinois but grew up on a farm in Stockport, Iowa.  She moved with her family to Northern Minnesota and married Robert Crompton in 1948. Maxine spent her adult life on their farm near Williams, Minnesota and worked as a homemaker, 2 summers as a Headstart classroom aide and transported Headstart students for Williams School District and later, worked 27 years as a Marvin’s Windows employee.  She loved vegetable and flower gardening.  Her winter pastimes included reading and watching John Wayne movies.  She also made the best caramel rolls.
Maxine is survived by her loving husband Robert of 63 years and 6 children: Linda (Roger Hanson) of Big Lake, MN., Robert Jr. or Larry (Leanne)of International Falls, MN., Virginia (Peter Schofield) New Jersey & Greece, Daniel (Judith) of Williams, MN., Alan (Mary) of Warroad, MN. and Colleen (Greg Patton) of Apple Valley, MN.  Also surviving is Maxine’s, mother, Kathryn Harter (age 104) of Keokuk IA., sister Betty Frohreich of Baudette, MN. (Fred deceased) and brother Ray (Beverly) Harter of Keokuk IA., and sister Jean (Pearl) Brown of Stockport, IA.   Maxine is also survived by a loving extended family of brother-in-law, George B.(Bernice) Crompton of Slayton, MN,  and sister-in-law, Mary R. Crompton of Bonita Springs, Fl.,  and  grandchildren: Alexander Schofield, Chantelle Gorelick(Schofield), Srijon Chowdhury, Beth Crompton,  Maksymilian Crompton, Remington Crompton, Zacchaeus Crompton, Robert & Muriel Mableson, Ross and Amory Mableson , numerous nieces and nephews, great-grandchildren Peyton, Bennett, Sienna, Gavin and Aaron. Maxine was preceded in death by her father Ray C. Harter in 1975.
Interment will be at the National Cemetery in Sarasota, Florida on April 29 with a memorial service in Swift, MN at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints on June 11 at 11am.
