Lillian (Hanson) Beghtel, 100

Lillian (Hanson) Beghtel, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at the age of 100.
    She was born in Karlstad on October 16, 1912 and graduated from Karlstad High School in 1929. Lillian taught school in Minnesota for several years and was proud of being one of the first women air traffic controllers during WWII. She married Lloyd Beghtel and first came to Stockton, CA in 1950. Together they started Stockton Fence Co. and worked side by side in the business for 30 years. Lillian was a devout Lutheran with strong faith and also proud of her Scandininavian heritage. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husband: Lloyd Beghtel; and her son: Paul Beghtel.
    She is survived by daughter: Lonna Wolf; and son: Lowell Beghtel. Lillian especially enjoyed her grandchildren: Brian Beghtel, Jocelyn Fitzgerald, Joseph Wolff, Philip Beghtel, Amanda Beghtel and Eric Beghtel. Her four great-grandchildren also brought her much joy..
    A memorial service was held Monday, May 16 at Zion Lutheran Church in Stockton, CA. Donations may be sent to the church at 808 W. Porter Avenue, Stockton, CA or Hospice of San Joaquin.
