Delores Sinclair, 76

Delores Arlene Sinclair passed away on Friday, June 3, 2011 at Valley
Eldercare in Grand Forks, N.D.
Delores Larson was born on March 28, 1935 in Fergus Falls, MN to
Harold and Irene Larson.  Delores grew up in Nashua, Wendell, and
Barnesville and graduated from Barnesville High School in 1952.
Delores then went to college at Valley City State and earned a
teacher’s certificate in elementary education.  She taught in
Fertile, MN and Circle Pines, MN.  On June 9, 1957 she married Peter
Sinclair in Barnesville, MN.  Following their marriage, Delores and
Peter settled in Stephen, MN to farm and raise their 4 daughters.
Delores was a member of First Lutheran Church in Stephen.  She was
involved in many community activities and organizations.  If there
was an event in Stephen, Delores was sure to attend.  She was an avid
and enthusiastic fan of the Stephen Tigers, Stephen-Argyle Storm, and
the University of North Dakota Fighting Sioux! She enjoyed golf,
bridge, reading, art events and an occasional trip to the casino.
But her favorite pastime was spending time with family and friends.
Delores and Peter spent many happy winters in Bullhead City, AZ and
made many dear friends there.
Delores was passionate about people and living a positive life.  Two
of her favorite sayings were: “When life gives you lemons, make
lemonade!” and “When God closes a door, He opens a window!”  She
lived by this philosophy and instilled it in her family.  She had a
way of making people feel special and cared for, often sending cards,
making phone calls, stopping to visit and sharing her beautiful
smile.  Delores touched and influenced many lives!
Delores was very proud of her family and stressed the importance of
“making memories” with each and every one of her children and
grandchildren.  She started many family traditions that we will
continue to carry on.  Delores also had many dear friends who meant
so much to her and who have been so supportive of her and her family
throughout her illness these past 6 months.
Delores is survived by her husband of 53 years, Peter.  Her 4
daughters:  Cynthia (Keith) Urbaniak of Kennedy, MN; Allison
(Michael) Peyton of Grand Forks, ND; Jane (Doug) Schindele of
Stephen, MN and Heather (David) Betters of Rosemount, MN, 10
grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons, a brother, LeRoy (Judy) Larson
of Burnesville and numerous special nieces and nephews.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents and her step-mother,
Myrtle.
Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 11:00
a.m. in First Lutheran Church, Stephen.  Interment will be in the
Stephen City Cemetery.  Rev. Michael Schendel, presiding; Myra

Urbaniak, Andrew Urbaniak, Nicholas Schindele, Jordan Schindele, Evan
