Lorinda Joy “Lori” Cummins, 50,

Lorinda Joy “Lori” Cummins, 50, of Virginia, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2011, at the Virginia Convalescent Center.
 
She was born on January 25, 1961, in Karlstad, MN to Arthur J. and Betty (Johnson) Cummins and grew up there.  Lori was a 1979 graduate of the Karlstad High School.
 
She was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Karlstad and a member of American Legion Post 239 Women’s Auxiliary of Virginia; and had been an Iron Range resident for over 25 years.  She had been employed at the Virginia Regional Medical Center for over 12 years.
 
Lori is survived by her mother Betty Cummins of Karlstad; 2 sons, Patrick (Crystal) Sele of Richfield, MN and Maxwell Omdahl of Virginia, who is currently stationed with the U. S. Army in Iraq; 2 grandsons, Kevin and Austin (A.J.) Sele; 2 brothers, Merlin Cummins of Buhl, MN and Wayne (Kelly) Cummins of Karlstad; 1 nephew, Shawn Cummins of Tucson, AZ and 1 niece, Desiree (Brian) Bertilrud of Thief River Falls, MN and several aunts and uncles.
 
Lori was preceded in death by her father.
 
The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to Amy and Gary and Lori and Jim for their help and support during her illness; Pastor Joel Kallberg; and the Essentia Health East Range Hospice team.
 
Visitation will be from 3 p.m. until the 4 p.m. memorial service, Friday, September 2, 2011, at the Landmark Funeral Home Chapel in Virginia with Pastor Donald C. Norr officiating.  Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Virginia.
