Les Mitchell, 73

Les Mitchell, 73, of Pierre, passed away, Saturday, November 5, 2011 at St. Mary’s Healthcare.  Visitation will be from 5:00-7:00pm, Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Feigum Funeral Home.  Funeral Services will be at 10:00am, Friday, November 11, 2011 at Feigum Funeral Home.  Inurnment will take place at Scotty Philip Cemetery at a later date.
Les Mitchell was born in Warroad, MN on December 25, 1937. He was the youngest of 10 children born to Fred Mitchell & Florence (Dollarhide) Mitchell.
Les attended and graduated from Williams High School in Williams MN.
Les moved to Fort Pierre SD in 1957 to work on the Oahe Dam where he met the love of his life Patricia (Pat) Warrick. They were joined in marriage on May 4, 1958. They were later blessed with a son Rocky Lane Mitchell.  From the dam he went into a career of sales at Gambles in Pierre, SD; from there he moved to Karl’s TV as a salesman in 1976 and began his career as the Store Manager in 1977, until his retirement in 1998. He was loved and respected by his costumers many of whom continued to visit him after his retirement. Les loved to tinker in his garage and create unique items out of household goods. He loved to go back to his childhood home every summer for Back Home Days and class reunion. While there he would cut diamond willow to bring home and make canes and walking sticks with.
He is survived by his wife, Pat, of 53 years; son, Rocky & wife Cindy; four grandchildren:  Korin, TaBetha, Tawna’ & Kayden; two great grand children, Alazay & Christopher; sister, Mavis Mitchell Boyer of Fort Pierre and many nephews & nieces along with his loving 4 legged baby Missy.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred & Florence Mitchell and his siblings: Opal, Maynard, Victoria, Keith, Lola, Davis, Thelma, & Albert.
