Gloria Gardner Singler, 85

Gloria Bernstrom was born Gloria Gardner Singler, the daughter of
Joseph and Alice (Gardner) Singler on December 13, 1925 at Hallock,
Minnesota. She grew up and attended school at Lancaster and
graduated from Lancaster High School in 1944. She married Morris
Bernstrom on May 1, 1945. The owned and operated Bernstrom Oil
Company. She also worked at Sanner’s Store in Lancaster and was a
cook at the Lancaster School for many years. Gloria enjoyed cooking,
baking, picnics, watching birds and playing cards at the Senior
Center. She loved music and time with her grandkids and
great-grandkids, as well as her friends. She was a big Minnesota
Twins Fan.
She is survived by her children, Candy (Doug) Nelson, Lancaster,
Jerry (Eileen) Bernstrom, Lancaster, and Holly (Wayne) Koop, Park
Rapids, MN; nine grandchildren, Scott, Heidi, Tracy, Tiffany,
Charlie, Evan, Misti, Casey and Brittany; and 13 great grandchildren,
Chelsi, Blaine, Blake, Megan, Drew, Dylan, Brett, Derek, Haley,
Morgan, Emma, Ellie and Sydney. She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, Morris in 1990; a sister, Florence Clow and a
brother, Joe Singler. Gloria Bernstrom died on Wednesday, November
30, 2011 in Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, North Dakota at the age of
85 years, 11 months and 17 days.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, December 5, 2011 at 10:00
a.m. Sion Lutheran Church, Lancaster. Interment will be in Riverview
Memorial Garden Cemetery, Lancaster. Rev. Melodi Hagen, presiding;
Dianne Rice, organist and Misti Koop, special music. Casket bearers
will be Scott Nelson, Charlie Bernstrom, Evan Bernstrom, Casey Koop,
Joe Olsonawski, Tom Coffield, Steven Sjostrand and Ben Stover.
