Orville Pederson, 86

Orville Pederson, age 86, from Fosston, MN passed away on Monday, December 5th at Essentia Hospital in Fosston.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 10th at 11:00 AM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Fosston with Father Dave Super presiding.  Visitation will be held on Friday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with a prayer service at 7:00 PM at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and there will also be reviewal for one hour before the funeral.  Interment will be at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Fosston, and the Carlin-Hoialmen Funeral Home of Fosston is in charge of arrangements.
 
Orville Ray Pederson was born on March 18, 1925 in Greenbush, Minnesota to parents Ole and Alvina (Thompson) Pederson.  He grew up in Greenbush and attended country school.
 
Orville served in the United States Army during WWII from December 31, 1943 to April 30, 1946 when he received his Honorable Discharge.
 
Orville was united in marriage to Kathleen Peterson on November 16, 1948 in Greenbush.  They lived in Greenbush where Orville was a bricklayer for many years until moving to Fosston, Minnesota, where they owned and operated Hillview Homes until retiring in 1995.  Kathleen passed away on April 27, 2000.
 
Orville loved golfing, fishing, and playing cards.
 
On Monday, December 5, 2011 Orville passed away at Essentia Hospital in Fosston at the age of 86 years.
 
He is survived by two daughters, Lynn Jackson of Fosston, and Carol (Rodney) Sikorski of Greenbush; six grandchildren, Debbie (Tim) Slough, Pat (Amy) Jackson, Jamie (Anna) Sikorski, Jason Sikorski, Rachel (Neil) Lund, and Nathan (Jessi) Pederson; ten great grandchildren, Mackinzie Slough, Jacob Slough, Katelyn Jackson, Anna Jackson, Ronnie Jackson, Owen Lund, Brock Sikorski, Dominic Sikorski, Kyla Pederson, and Aiden Pederson; one brother, Arnie (Shirley) Pederson of Greenbush; one sister, Marian (Kenny) Larson of Fosston; as well as several other relatives.
 
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Kathleen; his son, Ray Pederson; son-in-law, Ron Jackson; two brothers, Walter Pederson, and Earl Pederson; and two sisters, Doris Omdahl, and Mavis Stokke.
