Adaline Irene Watson, of Fridley, MN and formerly of Coon Rapids, MN went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the age of 87 years at Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids, MN. Adaline was born on June 28, 1924 at the family home near Greenbush, MN to John Frank Brazier and Olga Rose (Anderson) Brazier. She grew up in Greenbush and was a graduate of the Class of 1942 of Greenbush High School.
She was married to George Watson of Elma, Iowa on April 18, 1944 at Community Methodist Church in Columbia Heights, MN. Adaline and George initially resided in Elk River, MN. After George’s service in WWII, they settled in Coon Rapids in a home they built together, where they raised two daughters. They continued to reside at this home for 50 years until George’s passing in 2000. Adaline was active in her church, Anoka Wesleyan, helping with Sunday School, nursery and Vacation Bible School. She enjoyed sewing and was a talented seamstress and maker of braided rugs, and volunteered as a Girl Scout Leader. Adaline was kind-hearted and generous with her time and her home. She lived her faith by loving and helping others. Adaline and George served as Shaklee distributors for over 40 years, and loved traveling to Shaklee conventions and making new friends through the business.
Adaline and George enjoyed many visits back to Greenbush to visit the Brazier clan, yet her health in recent times limited her ability to travel. However, in June 2011, Adaline told her daughters she was feeling up to a birthday road trip “up home.” During this very special last trip to Greenbush, Adaline spent a wonderful impromptu afternoon reunion with family at the Lorenson home, and tours of Central Boiler and Mattracks with her nephews and other family members. Adaline cherished these special memories with her daughters and the Brazier extended family.
Adaline was preceded in death by her husband George, her parents John and Olga, and siblings Frank, Orval, Harry, Henry, Walter, Gladys, Lora, and Benneth. She is survived by and dearly missed by her daughters: Janet (Rick) Burns of Watertown, SD; Janice (Larry) Minner of Forest Lake, MN; grandchildren: Elisha (Kim) Burns of Bastrop, TX; Jeremy (Sarah) Minner of Hugo, MN; Ariella Wilde of Dallas, TX; and Angela Minner (Ray Douha) of Hugo, MN; and great-grandchildren: Austin, Christian, Daina, Erik, and Caleb.
Funeral services were held at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home with interment at Forest Hill Cemetery in Anoka, MN on December 1, 2011.
